Dirty injectors? Bad IACV? Bad ground?

Hi,

Since February, my 1990 7M in my 4Runner has been making an odd noise. Everytime that I change the position of the gas peddle, be it driving or sitting still in neutral, it will make a rapid 3-4 click. It has the same sound as a gas stove lighter. I hear it from the drivers side only. I recently had the valve covers off, and while there cleaned all the injectors... Could this be a sign that my connections to the injectors are going bad? Would the IACV cause this? It idles and drives well though... Could the TPS be to blame?
So far I haven't observed a negative symptom (that I know of), but I'm afraid this is just a warning... The distributor was out while doing my valves, and it felt choppy, and unsmooth when rotating it by hand... I've heard that this could be an exhaust leak, but I can't find one, and it doesn't sound like the exhaust leak I had with the 22RE that was in there before...
Any advice would be great.

Thanks,

Greg
