the sales is where trouble always starts, you think your saving money by buying one thing but you end up getting 5,6,7 however many things you end up buying and once you get to the register you think to yourself HOLY SHIT!! and try not to show the suprised face expression, thats just me though lol. HF is an easy way to spend a lot of money and not realize it. stuff is so cheap there

that damn cherry picker has cost me like 900 bucks so far....

I had to do a brake job on a semi so I bought a 1" impact gun $120 used, Budd wheel socket set $65, 5hp 80 gallon air compressor $375, 20 ton air/hydraulic jack $150 and misc. air fittings for $20

cost of equipment= $730
labor and parts markup on job= $375

3 more semi brake jobs and i'll actually make some money, yeah!

Another time I needed to fab together a trike out of a FWD dodge colt subframe for a guy but my ancient plasma cutter died in the process.

brand new 1" plasma cutter $2750 on sale
labor on the job $1250

The way I see it, tools are an investment to make me money more efficiently and since I plan to turn wrenches for the next 30 years or so, i'll get the value back eventually.

Tools are always a good investment. Always need a wide selection so that if it's tight quarters, you can get the job done quickly and efficiently.

So...Luck, Wisconsin...where is that? I try to meet every WI guy on the forum at some point.

Northwestern Wisconsin, right on the Minnesota border about 12 miles north of St Croix Falls/Taylors Falls. It's kind of wierd but I think most all of the Wisconsin people on SM are from the southeast corner by Milwaukee/Madison. I am actually much closer to Minneapolis/St Paul than I am to any SM Wisconsinite so I don't get to hang with you guys and I am afraid to post in the all Minnesota supras thread because they are probably Vikings fans. Dang mud duck swampies anyway! J/K:biglaugh:
