How can you tell the difference between a 6M crank and a 7M crank?, I have a crank out of an 89 so im not sure which crank is in it. It says 7M on the harmonic balancer bolt, does that mean its a 7M crank?

No...all the bolts say 7M (at least the ones I've seen)
The crank should be stamped on one of the counter weights "6M" or "7M". The 7M has additional counter weights and is heavier.

6m didn't have the counterweights on 2 and 5 correct?...i changed mine to a 7m....
