budget at least 1000-1500 if you're going to do all the work yourself. if you're going to have a shop do the swap, I'd say 2000-3000

the w58 can only handle so much power go r154 u wont regret it, many locals have been trying to sell me complete engine with tranny for 1,000-1,500. this would include everything i need(intercooler, afm, sensors, harness and ecu) and its on a running car and i can check if everything is ok. If you buy from a jdm place around 900 + shipping if its not local... and u will still need to buy stuff to complete the swap. The one guy was going to install for 2k for me as well..

hmm ok thanks for the replys. My goal is to be around 300hp so i dont see the r154 being that important especially when im trying to do this as inexpensively as possible. if I was to sell the 7mge in it with only 96000 on it how much could i get for it like 600? I was thinking of maybe considering a na-t since my n/a is in GREAT shape and im not trying to get crazy hp but from the threads ive seen here people say just swap it and in the end itll end up being the same price if not cheaper

I stressed a fresh rebuilt w58 with less than that....

It's the Torque that tears them up, in addition to that most 58's have worn through the hardening on the mainshaft snout by now and the shit selection of clutches available and it just doesn't make sense.

As I said I ripped one up with much less than that, it did make STUPID low/mid range though as it was a GT30r with a .63 AR, went dead flat/choked at 5000 but would boost off idle....

You could feel the 58 getting sadder each day ;)

tbh just sell ur complete engine with tranny, and source a complete 7mgte with r154. or you could do Na-T but then ur tranny would be a concern. If your trying to be cheap stick with what you have... the 7m does not forgive cheap D:
