Copper, Spool-like sleeve-like Fitting: Where does it go?

Well, I'm ready to reassemble my 1986.5 7M-GE engine to the W58 Transmission. However, I found the pictured Copper, Spool-like & Sleeve-like Fitting in my transmission bolt reassembly bag. I remember taking the fitting off of SOMETHING many moons ago. Maybe it's not even for the tranny-engine connection. Maybe because it's copper it's for electrical continuity. Anybody got a clue, or a better memory as to where this thing goes?
