coolant temp sensor wires

I have a 89 turbo, i dont have the plug that goes on the coolant temp sensor ( green wire and brown wire sensor), do thoses two wires go ''green wire - then the plug center tab - brown wire'' or the other way around?

the center tab is inside the sensor between the two progs

The sensor is a variable resistor.
It doesn't matter which side you have the wires connected to.
Unless you have your sensor in backwards......
