what i want to know, is how much it cost you to build up your 7M. Rods, pistons, complete valvetrain, fuel system, everything... i've done a 2jz swap in the past, which cost a little over 6k. i'm wondering if i can build a 7M to be more powerful than what i had with the 2jz for a lot less.

so, how much did it cost you to do the build up? i want to give the 7M another chance. i already have a T4 tubular manifold for a 7M. but, i know what a 2jz feels like... and i love it... so i'm conflicted

also, does the GE block have ports for oil return and feed for a turbo? i may want to put my ct on it for now...

the max boost i would throw at it is 20psi....peak 25psi

i think it would be fun building a 7M... i know a lot about it, more than i know about a 2jz, so it should be easy for me to do this. and i have a GTE block and head, block is 20 over ready for new JE pistons

oh yeah... would 40 over be any help. it doesn't cost much to bore the cylinders

also, if i were to buil the 7M i would need to get the Map Ecu... anybody had any experience with this system... another reason why i think 2jz might be the better way to go... again

i'm not looking to have 1000 hp... just a fun and reliable 450 or so....and it would be nice to show off a 7M ]]are there any 6spd tranny's that might work with this car?

MapECU2 is a realy nice system, and have the amazing option of a PnP harness. controls timing and fuel, converts to s/d and also has rev limiter adjustments along with a 2step. great interface.

well, i meant for the 7M if i decide to go that route... i'll probably do a 2jz swap again... i know what to do and what's needed, so it should go faster this time.

V160 gearing won't be so cool on a MkIII rear end... if I remember correctly, the MkIV has a 3.20 rear end, so on a MkIII rear end 1st gear will be all but useless and you'll probably have a 5 speed anyway :p

But if you could swap different gear ratios in the final drive... that'd be badass...

anybody know of a R154 for sale, i can't find any on ebay... i'm gonna call a junkyard tomorrow

i might build up a 7M... i'm gonna need rons ffim and map ecu, but i think it would be badass to have a 500 hp 7M

do all gte blocks have the same bolt pattern for the engine mount? i know the mounts themselves are different 89+, but on the block, is it the same, i need to make sure i get the right year block.

The benefit of the V160 would be its strength. Not the fact that it has 6 forward gears.

I'm agreeing with onejoezee on this one. If you get the right rear end gears it would work out nice. I want to build a 1jz with a v160 behind tho.

i just want the FFIM cause it looks badass!

i'm gonna price everything i want tonight, and compare cost to everything i need for another jz swap... i figure just keep the 7M, i don't want a monster here, just FUN, and POWER... i think the 7M can be great for what i want, and i can join 7Mpower.com
