code 52 is my problem???

ok i have another thread that was expalining that my car was sputtering and all, and just for no reason i checked the codes again and it through a 52. my question is, after searching it came up that it is retarding the timing and causeing it to run like crap. so how do i check the ks to see whats going on?

I think that is a knock sensor code. Make sure that both are plugged in and not broken. If all looks good then there's probably a bad one..

1 is right over the starter and the other is closer to the front of the block around piston 2..

i know where they are and i know to check them if they are plugged in and they are tight but would that cause the car to run like crap? thanks for the quick response though.

its very likely that the there is a short some where, you will have to re wire the knock sensors. yes, when the ECU detects a malfunction it will put the car in a "limp" mode. thats why its running like crap.

dont drive it or try to beat on it, make the needed repairs first.
