Code 42

I have a 1j swap in my 87 N/A and the check engine light comes on when i hit a sertain speed and RPM combo... I throw code 42-

Does this effect my performance in any way or is it just because my spedo dont work???

The TCCS uses the SPD input for several different modes...it will affect them.

Yes, it's because your speedo doesn't work...fix it.

What do you think the problem is with my spedo???
It just stopped working one day....

Cable is prolly worn out. Or the gear in the speedo said bye bye. Disassembly might also learn you a few things about the Odometer

Where is the cable??? On the trani???

It's coming out of the back of the speedo going to the tail housing of the transmission. It has a brown heat sleeve around it.
