clutch went out

Hey I have not done a clutch on my 87 supra, what will i need to get the job done and do i need a long extention to get to the top bolts on the bell housing. Just wondering.

10/12/14mm sockets/wrenches. Long extensions. And swivel sockets or 3/8 swivel adapter. Loosen the motor mount bolts and let the trans hang with the mount off to get the top bolts.

Take ground off battery for when you un bolt the starter. Starter is usually what is the biggest pain for most people.

Iirc stock flywheel bolts are 17mm too. And torques to 58 ft lbs. Pressure plate bolts are 14ft lbs.

ok thank you, that is helpful, I will be doing my clutch in a few days. Do you know if I need to get my flywheel resurfaced.

Depends on the shape of the flywheel, useally a good idea to have it done you also might want to get a new pilot bearing.

Yes I ordered an new clutch disk, throw out bearing and pressure plate.

Pilot bearing is not the same as throw out bearing, it's pressed in the center of the flywheel. That is a dealer item.

I ordered another pilot bearing, it was 11 from the dealer ship not too bad, thank you.
