so i have a 1j, and my motor never cam with a fan on it. it did have the hydro fan assembly, but with keeping it clean i took it off and whent with a 2j pump. i am now running a electric fan, but to be honesti would rather ditch all the extra wire and possibly run a clutch fan, just for simplicity.. so did these motors come with a clutch fan?? andcan some one measure the distance from the water pump pully to the front of the fan for me so that i can see if it will even fit.. also what parts do i need to get to hook this up if it is possible

Soarers came with a clutchfan. First order a MKIV Supra turbo fan clutch, then order a non-turbo MKIV Supra fan if you want room for an aftermarket radiator or order a turbo MKIV Supra fan to be closer to your stock radiator.
this is swapped in to a bmw so all i really need is to know whaty the distance is on the fan to see if i even have room. i may be stuck with electric. but i will hit the junk yard up and see what i can find? do you think any 7m fans will work?kneedragger85;1809096 said:
7M fans will work, you just have to get the proper clutch. Driftmotion has all sorts of clutches and fans available new, otherwise I would see what they offer, and look for the same thing used.

This is an incorrect statement. Electric fans don't move as much air as a well designed (stock) clutch fan. The main reason they're used in production vehicles is for clearance. They also increase load on the electrical system, which may not be able to cope with the draw fans create.
Additionally, fans are not designed to cool the turbos at all, the oil and water flowing through the turbos' center section are the inbuilt cooling for them.
OP: that said, being a swapped vehicle you are going to have to experiment with clutches and fans to get the correct clearance between the radiator and fan itself. It is possible that you may need to utilise an electric fan system, but that's a last resort in most cases.
Clutch fan ftw. Ive been having trouble finding a proper setup for my car. It's seems that the 2jzge clutch fan setup doesn't fit correctly without extreme spacing. Mine kept hitting my upper rad hose. And I think the vibrations caused my waterpump to crack overtime. I just ordered a 2jzgte fan clutch, and I'll be using the 2jzge blade. Hopefully it clears perfectly. I'll let you know if it works.
Confirmed. Gte fan clutch with ge blade works. just installed. Works awesome and clears water neck perfect
when i first swapped my 1j i ran electric fans and with this florida weather my car was running uncomfortably hot, i decided to run a clutch fan and i will never go back to electric again.
