I'm in the process of replacing my radiator, but as soon as I started pulling hoses off I didn't like what I saw. It's super calcified and very muddy, looks like the PO was running on the wrong fluid not Toyota Red coolant. Is there anything I can/should do before just dropping the radiator in?

I'd get a good quality radiator flush fluid and run it through the system with the old radiator. Drain that, run it again with fresh coolant, drain, replace radiator, then you should be good to go. Most of that looks like residue from non distilled water, and mostly water, being used in the system. no a huge deal, just make sure you flush it well, before dropping in the new radiator.
