changing front wheel bearings

Hey I have been doing tons of stuff to my car. And right now I have my my 2 front hub assemblys on the work bench. I am going to change the wheel bearings. But I am having a tough time getting the snap ring off. What is the easiest way to get the snap ring off?

Use like needle nose pliers ad the squeeze the ring and then take a small screw driver and pry the ring out from one end around to the other.

ps- hope you have a shop press as well.
