This is the first race I've ever gotten in the Supra, and I'm really tempted to not post this at all, but.... it was kind of funny.
Heading down 34th toward Archer (got my settlement in, so treating all my friends to Outback for the night), when I notice a blue Celica up in the left lane. I'm in the middle, with 2 girls in the Supra with me, so I don't pay much attention, when this guy nails the brakes and decides to check out the Supra.
Now, the Supra's not much to look at right now. The nose is like half painted, the front turn signals aren't even in, and I'm still working on block-sanding the nose in my spare time. When I'm not under the hood, that is.
Anyway, this guy gets back next to me, and just starts revving the piss out of his 1.8L of fury. He's got an exhaust and intake, that much is easily seen. TRD stickers under the door, but whatever, I don't think anything of it. My wife's laughing at me, so I flip the laptop back on, hit Record under TunerProRT (I'd been datalogging all day), and glance over at the guy. I get to hear 8k rpm of 1.8L, and then he gets an earful of 57trim @ 14psi.
After about 4-5 car lengths, I shoot him a thumbs down, and let off, listening to the Greddy RS (that bastard is LOUD, imho).
I have Jessica hit stop, label the recording 'Boosted' and don't think anything more, as he flys by. My wife is still laughing her ass off.
You'd think after that beating, he'd just realize he's not nearly as fast as the Supra, right? Nope. Less than 2 blocks later, he's back at it, revving at me AGAIN.
Just to try an prove the point, he takes off (traffic is starting to come up now, we're nearing Archer) so I wait about 2 seconds and watch him slowly pull up to my fender. I stomp it, 57trim spools, and I promptly pass him.
I turned off to Windmeadows after that
Not much, I know, but I found it humorous. My wife wouldn't shut up about it while at the restaurant. I've almost convinced her to let me put an LS1 in her '02 Miata, though! :naughty:
