Cause of smoking?

deffinetly turbo seals if the smoke is white. happened to me when i blew my turbo every stop light thick white smoke and only when warm at idle i used to stop at stop lights and bring the engine up to 1500-2000 rpm so it wouldnt smoke.

Funny, same exact thing happened to me. I even had oil in the turbo/ic pipes too. That was only until I changed the PVC, then threw in a catch can. Boosted 12lbs+ ever since without a problem. Hmmm:hsugh:

Thats exactly my problem and thats the same way i keep it from smoking. :icon_cry: . So does it affect performance at all? Or just a precursor to dying turbos?

i dont know if it affects performance, when it happened to me i stayed out of the boost especially because the turbo was howling loudly. if the turbo is howling then the turbo is already dead if not then yes the turbo is deffinetely on its way out. sucks hope u get it fixed soon good luck.
