so i go to hop in my supra and the damn thing wont turn over. i mean i turn the ignition into start and it is absolutely nothing. thinking its my battery, i break out the multi-meter and its pulling only around 2 volts.

so i grab a new one and stick it in there.

new problem -

i turn the key and it clicks (my interior lights come on at this point) and then it completely dies out. if i let it sit for a few minutes, my interior lights will come back and it happens again. i double checked the battery to make sure it was charged and under no load, it was at almost 13 volts...

any thoughts? im driving the duster (modd'ed parts car) right so i am missing my targa...

If there is a "Harbor Freight" store near you, get a battery load tester. It will also tell you how many volts the alternator will put out. They are about $15-20.
maybe that 'new' battery is not fully charged.

i checked it with my multi-meter, it was fully charged, it was putting 12 and some change volts (this was under no load though)

The clicking means there isn't enough voltage to turn the starter. Check your connections. A cable could've shorted out, that's why the other battery died, and why the new one won't push enough into the starter.

Check your grounds to, I just had the same thing happen, I had a bad Tranny to chassis ground. thought it was the starter so i replace the contacts and cleaned every thing up.

and nothing, turned out to be a bad ground. Im glad it wouldent start because i dont like fires!
