Can I wear a pinstripe jacket with dark black pants?

I have a black pinstripe jacket but I have lost the pinstripe pants that go along with it. I do have some black pants that are almost the same color. The pinstripes on the jacket are light white colored and spaced apart, you can barely see them upclose, but I'm still afraid that they might clash.

Should I go with that combo or should I search for some separate pants or give up the jacket entirely?

not for the office. better to go with out jacket to the office. unless you're a CEO, in which case you would have the money to buy a new suit because you've been hooking the books.

Can you take a picture of the combo? I can't really visualize because I don't think I've seen anyone where it like that. But it might work...

I have a nice black suit with little white vertical pinstripes. I must say, I would not even dream of wearing the top with any other set of dress pants. It seems mismatched and somehow tacky to me, but again, that's just my opinion [and you know what people say about those!].

Do NOT wear the pinstripe jacket with the solid pants.

That is, unless you want to be laughed at, in which case, go ahead.

I have to wear suits all the time, it would be a defenite no no.

At first I had thought vice versa might look better too. But then I got to thinking... if it's a suit jacket then I doubt it'll look right. Now if it was a longer jacket then I think it would look good because I think the combo is nice. But when it's a suit I think it'll come off like you either didn't want to wear the matching pieces or just didn't have them.
