doin cam seals on my 2jzgte and i took off the front camsahft cap on intake and exhaust side to slide in the cam seal. my question is, do you have to put a small layer of silicone on the edge of the caps?

Yes, you need it on the edges facing away from the head... Pass for exh and drivers side for intake
I torqed the cap down the put it on the edges, or was I supposed to put it under the cap on the outsides then torque it down?
dammit I had it right the first time then I just thought it was unusual to put silicone under the cap. thanks
