Hi folks, I could really use some help piecing together what I'd need to build a single turbo kit for my 1JZ MK3 Supra. I want the Holset HE351CW. Here is what I think I'm going to need.
- XSPower T3 Manifold (w/ wastegate flange)
- Custom Downpipe (Only need 3" as I'm getting downpipe flange below)
- Holset Downpipe flange (from eBay)
- -10 AN Oil Drain Line (M12x1.5 thread...?)
- -4 AN Feed Line (M12x1.5 thread...?)
- Fittings?
- Oil feed Restrictor (Not sure where to get or how much restriction I need)
- Custom 4" Intake Pipe plus filter
- External wastegate - Blow Off Valve (HKS SSQV)
- Custom piping to hook up to intercooler piping.
- Gaskets Am I missing anything?

Questions I have:
-What thread do the feed and drain lines need for this turbo, I think I need M12x1.5?
-What length of feed and drain lines do I need?
-Does the HE351CW require restriction and if yes how much restriction?

I read that these turbos like about 40psi oil pressure. The 1JZ makes probably 90PSI at WOT.
-Where do I buy a restriction device from?
-The Holset HE351CW has a sensor on it, can the sensor be removed?

Thanks for the help!

Additional Info: Power output goal is Peak of about 500-530 crank horsepower but typically will run lower than that. Going standalone (MS3 Pro) w/ 1JZ plugs Engine is a 1st generation 1JZGTE (non-vvti).

im not too familiar with the he351cw but i believe its very similar to the hx35w.
as far as a parts list for the oil supply/return, i ran a few different setups but the only ones that worked for me was using a -12 return and restricted -4 feed.
i tried -10 return with unrestricted feed. it smoked. i also tried -10 with restricted feed. it also smoked. now i have no smoking issues and have been running like that for about 5k miles.

i used this for the drain fittings, but i drilled it out and welded a -12 fitting onto it

-12 Hose - http://www.summitracing.com/parts/fra-803012
(i used nylon braided line because its easy to work with. but any oil rated hose will do)

i would recommend buying 2 -12 bungs above and welding the second one straight to the oil pan.

This looks to be some great info! Thanks!

I ended up deciding to go with a BW EFR turbo instead because in Canada getting a rebuilt Holset turbo was going to set me back $1000CDN. Once I added all the custom piping and BOV / Wastegate, it was basically the same price as the BW EFR. Just need to save up a bit more cash and then going to move forward with the project.
Thanks again!

I'm working on a he351cw project now.

The solenoid can be removed and plugged (fitting in Ebay for $55 with s built in threaded bung). I cut mine off and sanded it flat after I welded the hole shut.

-10an drain
- Driftmotion -4an feed unrestricted

Still haven't fired her up yet

Here's the adapter I made. Also ported the exhaust housing to try and make the 9cm housing flow a little bit more.

Great, cool project. I've decided for the short term to buy a Chinese made CHRA for the ct12as to run for a couple years until the CDN dollar comes back up. It is so bad right now. Was hoping to go single turbo but just not gonna happen this year.

How was your experience with the CHRA? I heard you should buy from Chinese companies that have a top seller rating which is based off of good feedback. I'll be honest I'm leery of going this route but I don't daily my car so it won't see a lot of miles. And I'm running out of affordable options. Ugh
