So my tires are worn and im looking for some good summer performance tires to wrap the sawblades in. yep, the blades. Now im in the air between 2 sets of tires.

Im not gonna wrap em in some 225's again, eff that... so i wanna go with 245-255's. Before you decide to flame me on that, know that people have done it, and do it.

So here it is, If i go with the Kumho Ecsta 712 Supra tires

kumho 712 supras

i have to go with 245/50 16's all around. If i go with the BF goodrich

Gforce Sports

I can get 255's for the back and 245's for the front ( both 50 profiles)

372+shipping for the 245+255 Gforces
332+shipping for the kumho supra's (371.84 with road hazard)

all opinions welcome!:biglaugh:

255/50 all around would be teh gay.
you need to bring down the profile on at least the fronts, but I'm not a fan at all of staggered tire sizing on the same size wheels.

245/45 would look OK. I believe I saw them on a supra once.

looked at alot of tires... and the BF's look to be a really good tire for the price... i dont have that much to spend, otherwise id just get bigger wheels anyway :) You can put alot of brands of 255's on the rear, but not alot of 16 inch tires come in 255 width

And i wasnt going to go with 255's all the way around, i was gonna do 245 in the front. I dont wanna go 45 profile on the front.. i dont like the not enuff rubber look. Plus they have the rim protector so its all gravy

Just wanted to drop in an update... I put on the tires about a week ago and im very happy with them!! They are bigger than the stockers obviously and brought the car a little higher off the ground. They look good though and fill out the wheel wells (not to the top, to the outside of the fenders.) I'll get some pictures up soon, my car is down right now with a cracked radiator.. new one comes in wednesday and my car is stranded at empera's house.

The grip is excellent, i have yet to break the rear free in a turn with some speed going. Havent driven them in the rain yet, but i look forward to seeing the difference since these tires are AA traction rating as opposed to my old tires with an A rating and 3/32nds of tread left (all slip no grip)

The tires have plenty of room left before they rub in the rear, but at full turn, the fronts are about a half inch from rubbing inside the fender. Still nothing to worry bout, how often do i pull a full turn of the wheel at anything above 5mph. Anyway, for all the people who doubted the 7inch wheel 255tires combo, youve been proven wrong, they handle great with no "jello like" feel whatsoever.

dude, go with the bfg gforce sport. i had used both on my mkiv. there is not even a comparison with those two tires. the gforce sports are amazing. youll regret it if yo dont listen to me:icon_mad: but seriously no comparisson, you will be very very happy with the g force, i was.

opps, i see you went with them, they are great tires arent they? i had them in 275/40/17 for the 4th gen. they gave me great traction, and make it hard to spin em, with that tire, in that size.
