I have a question that has been on my mind for a while now. Will a 1991 front bumper fit on an 86.5?

No sweat. Many of the pre 89's here have done this to 'update' the styling. EVERYTHING (with a few exceptions) from an 89+ will bolt right onto a pre 89 supra. Exceptions being the 3 piece wing, and wiring changes.
While both will mount to any 86-92 body, Pre 89 and 89+ are two different bumpers. The lips mounts to the bumper. Therefore, the lips are different. The lips are not interchangeable between the two bumpers without some type of modification/customization.fox74;2060373 said:

I always thought there is a problem with dimensions, but from what I understand from you reply it is a mounting issue. Would you be more specific about what need to be modified, if it is do able I will make it happen. thank you
Mine is a 92, so my lip options aren't limited. I found a thread where someone made a 89+ lip fit an 88, but opinions varied on the results. The bumper shape is different, so it doesn't really look right to me.

The lower edge of the bumper is a different shape. And the pre 89 bumper (if traced out) would have a shorter line.
Just look at the 2 bumpers and you can see the 'jaw line' if you will, where the pre89 tapers in and the post 89 just kinda looks bloated.
Also pretty sure the nose panel has holes in different places for the post 89 nose/grills.
