Well I pretty much have everything but the head. I'm high temp painting my heatshields. Has any one done this with real high temp paint and not charcoal grill black??? The exhaust mani is going to be black and the heat shields red. I have the tank pulled off and found my main fuel line was kinked in 2 places so that cap that holds your new walbro costs 66 bucks from toyota.

Changing the starter out this weekend between painting. Planning on installing the msd e coil. And hopefully the new lower radiator hose.

For those of you that have me on the pay no mind list, lol. I have already deleted the ac and the back seat to be carpeted at a later date.

I'm about to order tokiko shocks..., will these still work with my t.e.m.s. ?
I'm going to install Eiback springs. I am currently seeking a carbon fiber hood.
I am also seeking a high output alternator. Also seeking brembos that are not ridiculously priced. May have to go with a toyota upgrade.

No big stereo. Pioneer super tuner III 50 watts by 4. And a lowely pair of 6x9's. Stock wheel and my shift nob has the leather stripped from it because it was 45 bucks to get done and aaaaaaa, f$%k it. My e brake cover is shot.

I'm just going to discard it. I want to rhino line the rear spare tire well. I also need a 91 model driver rear tail lamp with no cracks.

I am also putting on a cusco front strut tower rod.

That's about all I can think of it's 5:20 my time in the a.m.. I have been working on the car all night so I'll catch you cat's this afternoon at the ass crack of NOON, ish.

Thanks man I intend to look into this with my distributor. It seems like a question they should have asked or elaborated on because I had no idea that anyone would make a shock that over rides the tems.

Iirc, only the Illumina 2's work with the tems, at least, I haven't seen any others. For any normal shock, you leave the actuators off the top. I went Bilstiens with stock springs. Ride's a little harsh under 50 mph, but stays nicely stuck to the road into the upper limits of 5th gear....

Sounds good. I think you have to expect a tight ride when you lower it with springs like I will be doing.

As per update. Mike 1 starter 0. Got that taken care of and what a pain in the ass it will be with just the head on alone. My stocker was nasty, definitley a good call on changing. When I had it out I could feel it clunking around on the inside. I was thinking about rebuilding it but it's more core worthy I think.

All of the heat shields are red ceramic high temp now. The exhaust manifold is about to go into prep for paint and it will be flat black as I am afraid the extreme heat wil show on a gloss finish.

Other than that I am moving in small incriments waiting on my machinist and still staying busy.

I was about to wire in the walbro when I noticed that my new pump housing has a piggy back wire on the reverse side. The original doesn't have that.

So my guestion is.., sinse the piggy back is blue do I plug it in to the positive or do I even need to hook it up.

Toyota has been zero help saying they will reorder to see if it was packaged wrong.

I'm rolling the Tokico with TEMS now and they seem Okay at best. Soft enough for daily driving but aint a set of coil overs... I'm ordering a set of the Tein flex n1 coilovers for mine in about 2 weeks or less, maybe you would want my old setup?? They are new shocks too, springs are aftermarket as well, but the ride height seems stock. let me know

I have already placed the order. So we just touched down too late here.
My 91 is running stock shocks and springs. So anything is an upgrade at this point. I wanted koni's but they were just too much money. I have basically spent 3k on parts in the last 2 weeks and I am still waiting for the head. Wich I am told will be done this week but we will see.

Ya these Eibach springs lower the front end 1.5 inches and 1.0 inches in the rear. I think I'll be happy with it For a while after all of this. I do thank you for extending the offer as well.

Supramacist: there's a 12 volt rewire you have to do to run the Walbro pump. I remember reading something about it on sf...

I saw on the instructions it had like a piggy back so I'll have to figure that out. Thanks for the heads up I'll post any questions.

Wer'e having a cold spell for the next few days so I won't be working on the car much. Because my garage is a cave. lol.

I'm not rushing this project. so long as there is forward momentum. It's almost 40 degrees today and it has been like summer the past few weeks.

Learning how to put the new timing belt and idle tensioner pulley on has been a bit of a challege. I had to take the starter off again, so I had to monkey with those long a$$'d bolts.

Installed the ARP hardware. They went in like a wet dream.
Should be picking up the head on monday.

I also cleaned out all of the cylinder casings and lubed them really well. Went back to TDC, and called it a day.

I'm going to paint the cam shaft gear cover high temp red.
Contemplating doing the fan shroud and dist cap cover in high temp flat black.

Any thoughts are welcome.

supramacist - I've recently painted my heat shields with a Dupli-Color High Heat Ceramic (aluminum color, picked up at local AutoZone for $5) and it looked so good I nearly wet myself... see pics attached. Make sure to prep the surface well by removing grease/oil residues (I used Zep Commercial Citrus Cleaner/Degreaser - found at Home Depot) then give the area to be painted a good once over with a light sand paper (600-800) or a metal finishing pad (3M makes a good one - also at the Depot) If you have heavier rust forming on the shields you may have to go a bit rougher on the sand paper grade to smooth things out. Let us know how they turn out!

It sounds like you used to paint as well. Very good tips.
I keep it simple. my degrees of sand paper. I use rubbing alcohol to clean everything and then I go over it with a tack cloth.

Ya..., I think we used the same kind of paint even. They look good. I;m going to wet sand and recoat mine, Then I'll post some picks.

The cam gear cover is red.

Now all I have to do is wet sand the heat shields and the exhaust mani and repaint each, just to add some extra strength.
This paint has an orange-ish label and says engine enamel 1200 degrees ceramic.

I'm doing alot of extras that are slowing up my build. Should get the head tomorrow, yada yada yada. You cat's know the drill I'm getting. But he should have it tomorrow or the next day. He was supposed to be done on friday and never called. So yet again..., we'll see.

Hot Damn I Got It.

I tapped on it with a hammer and put the cheater bar on the breaking bar and it twiznisted right up out of there. Hot knife through butter baby.

Thanks to those of you that have supported me.

Now I get to change the drive belt and idle tensioner pulley, after I get the crank pulley off.

Thanks Again.

Right now it's at a friends house in Knoxville, Tenn.

It's a 911 Carrera IV.
It has 60 Thousand original miles.
It's loaded, left hand key, ignition for the Le mans action.
I had to call good year and order my tires because they didn't just make them. So it's rolling on stock wheels with Goodyear Eagle nascar #1 Tires.
Stock engine, everything stock. Blue xenon headlamps.
Brembo brake kit.

Mobile 1 synthetic. It goes to porsche every 15k miles. Supposed to go every 20k. If I tint the windows it will be done by Porsche. If I have bluetooth installed it will be done by Porsche.

I think some of you underestimate me.
That's cool.
I can dig it.
