I've done some searching and couldn't really find any details on this..

But the "BRAKE" light's on..and it's due to the switch under the ebrake handle. It's completely broken off. Is there a way to by pass this switch? I'm usually pretty good at putting the ebrake down, so I don't really need the switch to remind me. The way it seems to work is the ebrake lever, presses down on the little plastic cylinder and the spring, which turns it off. Could I simply just disconnect the switch and ground it out to the body? I would just zip tie it down, but the switch is pretty much in two pieces. I also tried to find a replacement one online, and no luck.

Looking for a work around or even a part number.

Thanks!

I'll get an intro thread up with some pics when I get to my personal computer.

Well, you could rig any miniature normally closed switch. Radio Shack sells them assuming they're still in business. They been circling the drain for some time now. Or lots of other cars use similar switches. Should be easy to mouse it.

Yeah, I ended up just disconnecting it. Works for me. Not a permananet fix, it's just temporary for now. The light was annoying
