bov to atmosphere

I'm running a HKS SSQV BOV that vents to the atmosphere and I have no issue but my 87 GTE only has 60k miles on it so runs like its brand new. Same time I had another car that vented to the atmosphere with a HKS SSQV as well and it would stall. And I to would like to know what afterfire is as I have never heard this term before.

Yep. It means that something is igniting after the manifold.

Whether you get flames out the tail depends on the amount ignited, where int he exhaust it happened and if you have a catalytic converter.

I don't have a catalytic converter, I suspect that these are happening in the resonator, and they are sometimes quite sizeable (loud) I wouldn't be surprised if you could see flame in the tailpipe at night when the conditions are right.
