bov question?

what could cause the bov to sound kinda like its choking? i've tried the stock one, recirculated and not recirculated, and a greddy type r, recirculated and not recirculated....they sounded identical and im confused as to why

Check for boost leaks. Check the vacuume line too. Could be ripped.

I agree....check for boost and vaccuum leaks. If it's losing pressure somewhere other than the blowoff, you won't get the same sound because it's not releasing the same amount of pressure.

do you know what compressor surge sounds like? maybe that's the "choking sound" you're talkin about. cause i know with the vacuum line to my SSQV taken off, i surge a little bit even at stock boost. so like they said, check the vacuum line.

ok i rechecked the intercooler piping and the vacuum line for the bov...i test drove it and nothing changed...would the pcv system at the throttle body being open cause a leak beause someone told me it was fine to leave open...in fact the whole pcv system is missing


no i have no idea what it sounds like...anyone got a sound clip?

Ok it was compressor surge :3d_frown: After a long day of changing every single vacuum hose it finally sounds right. Thanks for all the help and video clip.
