bov fluttering or compressor surge?

how can you tell the difference between bov fluttering and compressor surge? is there a difference or is it the same thing. ive heard it (fluttering) on low boost and on very high boost.i just wanted to know if theres a difference

BOV fluttering at low boost is normal, the high... Eh, IDK about that now . What BOV/BPV are you using and what psi?

When I first got my Supra, I though my compressor surge was just the cool noise that the turbo made lol. It would happen only at high boost though. I swapped out the stock bpv for the Bosch 110 and it stopped the fluttering.

I just love the sound of Compressor surge. Hatatatatatatah. My Cressida had alot of that with my old TurboXs BOV. I got a Greddy now and it hasn't done it. But we'll find out in the future.

ive heard it on various turbo cars not only on supras but in the old supra i had an apex twin chamber on 11 psi. so compressor surge and bov fluttering are not the same ive heard it on big hp supras running massive boost on almost every turbo drag car its just a question i had

I have a greddy typeS bov on my car, I've only ever run stock boost and the thing always flutters from about 0 - 4psi. I've adjusted it every which way, and nothing seemed to help. A lot of people say fluttering at low boost isnt harmful, but me being anal about these things, installed a Bosch 110 BPV along with the greddy. I've been flutter-free ever since.

there the same thing,

make sure you have a goo vac source (test with vac gauge on the bov line) and run new vac line if needed.

im running an ssqv and it will flutter about 10% of the time at 5 inmg-5psi but most of the time it's a soft pusheshhh
