Hey all, As I've heard, it's not easy to install aftermarket BOV to 7M-GTE, because engine will run rich between shifting and may even die.

So I decided I should get myself the Bosch BPV http://store.driftmotion.com/static/i-0280142110.php

I know that someone(probably quite many) from you guys have tested this, does this Bosch BPV make any sound? I mean would I be able to hear the nice turbo sounds?(My engine is stock, with MHG)

Also, I've heard from somewhere, that if I remove my engines both cats it will start to hit fuel cut, is this true?!?

Mine makes a nice wooosh sound. Its not very loud, but I can occasionly hear it. I'm guessing aftermarket ones are probably a lot louder.

It does make some sound that you can hear inside the car, probable not outside if you are driving by. I had one and the most irritating part about it was right around 0psi light throttle accel it made a very annoying "hooting" sound, sort of like the valve fluttering in there. I loved the valve besides that, so i decided to ditch it and go with a TurboSmart kompact plumb back valve, never looked back. Does what it is supposed to do. ( I was getting surge with the stock BPV). Check out their lineup.

Thanks for the info guys.
But still, im seeing quite many threads wherein people afterall do have BOV's on their supras, and no piggybacks or MAP's what would prevent their engine to go rich...
Also, could anyone give any ideas about the cats?

If the cats are not controlled by the car's computer and there is no downstream o2 sensor, how can it make you hit fuel cut? The turbo will flow better and maybe boost will spike to "cut" pressures, but with a manual boost controller you should be able to defend against that.

thinking about buying the turbosmart bov did you get the 20 or 25mm?

I ended up getting the dual port 25mm, but in the end i have it set up for plumb back only. It worked fine and i didnt get any stumbling or anything with it vented, but it was drawing in unfiltered air under decel, so i have it full recirc now. I have a reducer bringing the size down to the stock fitting size. I got the 25mm just so if i ever upgraded my whole setup i had a valve that could flow more.
