My buddy is having a real bad surging problem with his car.. It has a bosch bov on it (we tried 2 different ones.. the 103 thats on his car and a spare 110 i had laying around both do it).. On the stock ct it worked great, no problems.. He recently upgraded to a 60-1 t-netics bolton and now its surging bad.. even low boost... He is on stock intercooler and stock intercooler piping for now, would that have anything to do with it?

just get a atmospheric bov, i had a surging problem with the bosch whenever i would run over 13psi. then i got a turboxs and 16 pounds surge free.

I'm pretty sure BoostnLoose is right.. he needs a larger atmospheric BOV or a larger pre-turbo inlet. Not enough air is being evacuated.. I had this problem with my greddy type s.. then I got the HKS racing bypass valve.. no surge. Then I blew the diaphram on it.. and now I have no BOV and a lotta surge.

yea, but you would figure it would still work reving.. when we rev the car to like 5-6k and let off it surges.. its not making but maybe 1-2 psi, if that.. and it still surges..

It may be part that its a small hole on the 3k pipe, but it worked for 16 psi on the ct.. so 1-2 psi on this turbo isn't more then 16 on the stock ct...

The turbo has a S cover(i think, 4"inlet 2.5" outlet) and we're on the stock piping (2" maybe 1.75 in areas??) maybe that has something to do with it.. Im going to fab up something and try out my spare greedy rs on it and see if it works..

we've also tried differnet vac source as well... still surged..

bingo, the stock BOV port is too small. You're turbo is moving a lot more air, so that air needs a bigger hole to blow off from. and bigal, ya, it can support 500 hp pressure wise.. without leaking.. but it probably just cant handle the airflow that it takes to make 500hp.

stupid question, but is the bosch a one way valve? is it in backwards? sometimes its something simple... just an idea

but at 1-2 psi free reving its not flowing more then the CT at 16 psi

Does the turboxs bolt on to stock bpv location?

Same here, had the bosch(108) with the stock turbo, worked great.
With the upgraded turbo it would always surge, low boost/high boost, always
Even with custom ic pipes and larger inlet to the bosch bov.
Changed to a greddy, problem solved

Most people that have run higher boost with the Bosch valve have run 2. I.E. Malloynx and either Figgie or Adjuster.

well i guess we're gonna have to fab up some piping n stuff. we'll prolly try to greddy rs first and see what happens.
