Oh for crying out loud. Have you even attempted to find out what Code 52 (and further - a knock sensor) actually does???

What you are being too dense to figure out, is that the code 52 - Fault in the knock sensor or circuit can and will cause bogging, due to a metric shit-ton of timing being pulled out of the system.

The ECU is trying to keep you from blowing up your car. So far, the ECU is showing more intelligence here. Try to fix that ;)

dude, the ecu is already telling you what one of your problems are (52). fix it.

once you do check for codes again, if you come up with no codes but still bogging then start your guess work.

52 is the knock sensor right. can a misfire make the engine shake as well? or preignition?

No. No DTC condems a part. A DTC is an idicator that a circuit is outside of its working parameters(expected voltage)

Yours is the knock sensor circuit. A dead knock sensor can set the code. So can 20 year old wiring. It means the engine control unit is not getting a knock signal.

And if you had a bad coil pack, what makes you think you have pre-ignition? Do you really know what spark knock, detonation, and preignition are? They are not one in the same, but are related.

ill be honest ive never seen or herd spark knock before but i have seen detonation and preignition. a bad coilpack will make your car shake like hell and sound like a light cam job

So let's say it is the knock sensor, then the ecu retards timing, right? Would that make the wideband just jump all the way to RICH?

Sorry if I'm thread jacking, just thought might get some more technical info the the whole problem. This seems to be the same problem me and my mechanic have been scratching our heads over for quite a while.

Idk if retarding your timing would make it run rich. but do know it either advance it or retard it to much to the point where u lose alot of performace.

a further comparison on our problems. What condition is your turbo in? My turbo is completely shot and smoking like crazy. Could it be that the turbo is dumping oil into the intake and bogging down the engine?

just throwing thoughts out there.

Am I that far off? BTW I had this bogging down before the turbo really started smoking, just got worse now.

Another thought for 7mgte1988:
Does you car bog down under low psi as well, or just high boost?

At first I used to think i might have spark blowout, but my car bogs down even at low psi, as long as its under full load, so i've pretty much ruled that one out for me.

Yes, you are that far off. The OP needs to fix the code 52 and go from there. Any other speculation is useless at this point...he doesn't need it and it will not help. All it will serve to do is cause a vector off on a dead-end tangent.

This kind of thing needs to stop in the Tech Section.

This thread is closed...the OP has his answer.
