What is this threaded hole near the block side of the pcv vent tube. There is nothing in mine, should I find a bolt and plug it. What is it?

That's a leftover from when the 4M and earlier had a distributor there, running off of the oil pump driveshaft.
Related: the "J tube" plate is left over from when the M had a mechanical fuel pump, which ran off of a cam from the oil pump driveshaft.
