Hey guys, I've been having a problem idleing. Lomg story short, had the lex/550's and Walbro done by a guy, he didn't do the J pipe mod. Couldn't get it to lean out. I started putting everything back to stock so that I can get it running good again. Lex removed now, 440's stocks are back in. Still have the Walbro, I drilled out the bolt (didn't drill out the side hole just the tip...heh just the tip...might be a prob still)

I was getting an AFM code, bought another used one, reset the ecu, now I still get the code and it won't hold idle. Doesn't sound like its missfiring throughout the range, just wont hold an idle by itself or start with no gas. Not sure if I mentioned this, but removed the year old gas as well...

As a side note, I have a MAP Ecu coming so hoping to tune it that way, although I would of prefered to have the car running perfectly before hand. The I can get rid of the AFM all toghether. I will also be installing a wideband to see what my ratio is as I'm running way to rich now.

I took a pic of my AFM connectors (I know its filthy, I have to wipe clean the whole engine bay) and I noticed a wire kinda exposed. Would this cause a false reading??

On a side note, no car will start without gas. Just so you know. He didn't do the j-tube mod and you couldn't get it to lean out? I don't know what you mean. You don't want it to lean out. The J-tube is a built in restriction that raises fuel pressure. So you are not getting gas, and you couldn't lean out?

No what I ment was that I was way to rich. Since I had a new fuel pump (walbro), the fuel pressure was to high because of the restriction on the j tube.

Have to drill out or bypass the jtube when installing a walbro.

Which afm code are you gettin?

before a total rebuild and mod of my car, i ran walbro 255, 550 injectors, and lex afm, stock fpr & fpd, stock puter and didnt touch the j-tube and i never had any probs with the way it ran. 12.6 114mph in the 1/4 and didnt go lean.

now i have jtube eliminated with an aeromotive and after bout 30 sec of start up it falls off the scale lean... cant figure it out. your j tube has nothing to do with your car running poorly, you have a mafs prob. most likely a dirty connection.
