I've beaten two mustang gt's, one srt4 stock, and I've lost to an srt4 that wasnt stock. He beat me out of the hole, but then it was even, he had me by about two car lengths and I couldnt gain on him and he couldnt leave me.

i dont get to race alot and i dont like it at all
i mean i was on a permit but now i have my license n shit but its winter:( so i gotta wait. alot of the cars ive beeteen were 1-3 cars except the hondas 5-6
the sti was laughing and i just wanted to see how fast they were.lol
anyways i am going to be building up with shane and getting 350-400 hp and 400trq so then ill have a zo6 under my belt because shane did one up last summer. <witness:)>

yeah i lost to an sti also, but now i am at fuel cut(15 psi) and i it will be a while till i can do more, but getting a higher stall torque converter will help you alot off the line, if that is the culprit....i know it was for me.. but i have beaten many mk3's out here, manuals are nice, but we hold boost between gears :evil2:

mustang GT
Honda Hatchback w/B18 swap Headers exhuast intake
Stock SRT4 (not sure on this one)
Countless rice
Mazda 3
5.0 Mustang - Bolt on Mods (i was keeping up with him, not necessarily a kill)
I was neck and neck w/ my twin supra (5spd exhaust, intake, 12lbs). Everytime he shifted i pulled on him. Not to mention the 1-2 car lengths i gained on him off the line. But he hit 3rd or 4th and i kinda lost my lead :(

My mods:
Stock Auto Trans
1.2mm MHG
12lbs on Dr J. MBC
Apexi intake
full 3" exh from turbo back (cooleeze dp)

Im estimating 250-275hp (cross fingers)

Auto + Brake + gas = 6lbs, brake off WOOOOO!! gain an instant 1-2 car lengths :)

For me its Auto + Brake +Gas= 2 in a half to 3 pounds a screech out of low and a screeech into 2cnd!!lmao i jumped on a awd talon turbo and beat him. 4 got to mention that... i had a thread of it before but i got flamed for doin it on a permit so it got shut.. that was my best kill,,,,

also just wondering how many of us auto people actually shift it on a daily basis? for me. i am usually doing low to 2cnd and 2cnd to drive with o/d off in drive... that is sometimes otherwise i leave it in drive. but i noticed i launch alot better with brake boost from drive that you can in low...
also with out me brake boosting i can chirp into 2cnd. anybody here aswell?

and i noticed alot better way to go off the line quick but not launch. put it in 2 and right when you go put it in low and when it upshifts put it back in 2.. ive gotten my car sideways in damp wether and dry wether doing this. it is quite dangerous though... anybody else have anytips.
i am kinda glad i am auto.... its just i like it and are trans's are storng too:)

shifting like that is supposedly bad for the tranny, not as bad as neutral drop but its still not good. Specifically why ECT is there. Auto tran's arent THAT strong but they are strong. Anything after 300whp of constant hard driving etc say bye to the tranny.

Shit ive got estimated 250-275hp and my tranny is aleady starting to slip with 2 months into it..

its a huge difference, i can squeel the tires from the line w/ ECT and brake boosting. I notice the turbo spool faster and also shift lines change from 4.5k to 5.5-6.k :) supra becomes a mean bitch

hold brake and gas until you build boost. Although effective it can be very damaging and stressful on the trans & drivetrain so dont do it often.

ya its especiall fun considering im running 3" open downpipe. The car is really quiet in 4th gear barely on the gas. Sometimes ricers wizz by me and rev as they pass thinking im mostly stock (not noticing no exhaust pipe). So i would casually hit O/D off and ECT on change lanes after the pass and gun it to catch up to them, just as im passing ill jam the pedal to the floor so it goes to 2nd gear and they get an ear full of open wastegate/downpipe :naughty: :biglaugh: . 90% of the time they back off and do 5mph under the speed limit and stay behind me. They re think their approach and decide not to race haha..

Downpipe: stock setup where wastegate gas and exhaust gas is combined into one single tube creating turbulence and limiting the smooth flow of exhaust/wastegate gasses
http://bicperformance.com/images/dp_new.jpg

Semi Divorced Downpipe: Exhaust gas and wastegate gas are seperated using 2 seperate tubes & a divider plate coming off the turbo Then re routed back into the downpipe further down closer to the cat.
http://bicperformance.com/images/ddp_reroute.jpg

Divorced Downpipe: Exhaust gas and wastegate gas are seperated using 2 seperate tubes coming off the turbo which is left to be dumped into the atmosphere giving a very loud roar when the wastegate is opened, also provide more flow.

When i specified open downpipe i meant no catback, i simply have my 3" downpipe coming off the turbo and thats it. So the car is pretty loud :)

first of all i suggest not copping out and getting something cheap. I personally paid $300 shipped for my cooleeze full 3" downpipe. It gets rid of the stock turbo elbow and flows just like the Standard BIC Downpipe. Bolts up to stock location and everything. For me i have a 3" mandrel exhaust w/ a Megan Racing N1 muffler w/ 3.5" tip.

You could use your stock catback but i wouldnt suggest it, its 2.5" and its restrictive which will almost defeat your 3" downpipes power gain. Just get a 3" DP 3" MANDREL or ubend exhaust w/ a nice decent muffler. the difference between the 3" and 2.5" stock is night and day.
