automatic transmission blues

so i went out tonight got to where i was going went to back into a parking spot and and put in reverse and the car started vibrating and went clunk clunk clunk moved but very very slowly
and it will start out in second gear.
any ideas?

well i checked the fluid this morning with my dad who is a master tech for toyota when these cars were new and it was low so i dumped a quart in it and now first is fine it still clunks a little bit in reverse if your hard on the gas but im just gonna go easy on it for a while and see if it might go away. he thinks maybe because it got run low on fluid is y its doing it i will keep you posted.
