I don't understand, if it won't shift up, then how can you feel it downshift to
2 and 1? More than likely the cable that runs from the transmission to the throttle linkage(can't remember what it's called, kickdown or downshift cable) is out of adjustment. Mine used to go through all the gears very fast and would not downshift when I punched it. If it's not that it could be a bad solenoid. First of all though, does it have enough transmission fluid? ;)

how do you adjust the downshift cable and when I say I can feel it downshift I mean when I shift it to 2 or L I can feel the car jerk back like the rpm's shot up but when I punch the accelerator it wont shift like it's not catching or something but I did change that cable before I did the swap so mabye that is what it is but how do you adjust it I just put it in there thanks for your help

Have you checked for tranny codes?

It's called the tranny throttle cable or kick down cable. It's sole purpose is to control line pressure. That can cause a harsh shift, but should not cause down shift problems. Sounds like a solenoid to me.

The speed sensor replaces a traditional governor valve. So yes, you need that for upshift.

Whether or not that is the only thing wrong isn't know yet, as you are the only one who has the car.

where is the speed sensor located it said it was speed sensor number 1 and I believe thats the one on my gauges and if thats the case then I know why that is because my gauges aren't even connected and the reason for that is because I can't find the connector from the engine harness it plugs into I've looked everywhere for it but I just can't find it and I just can't figure out where it could have gone but thinks for the help I'de rather it be that then a busted tranny so thanks alot now all I need is to find the connector and I can feel my new 7mgte motor which I've never driven and I'm really excited to do so
