Attempting a FFIM ISC question

I see that the stock intake mani has a machined in area below the ISC valve, is this needed or can I simply use a flange mated to the ISC and have it work properly. I am very seriously thinking about making a FFIM. And yes i tried searching, but it is kinda defunct right now. Don't know it just says it's not working. anyways yea, can i just make a flange?

Yes you can mount it away from the intake.

Im pretty sure you would need to incorporate the one way valve into the flange as well (the small metal disk with the red silicone flapper in it).
