So I found a wireless router on my computer, and am pretty sure it was installed by my daughter's boyfriend so she could use her laptop. I will find out for sure later. Well, the internet wasn't working and I ended up finding that he had changed the settings to a static IP address, which was fixed and I'm back online.

To make sure this doesn't happen again I changed everybody's XP accounts, so that only my wife and I have administrative rights, and I end up finding a new (I think it's new) user that doesn't show up on the login screen - only when you go to User Accounts through the control panel. The user is asp.net, and it is password protected. I have no idea what this is, and need some answers. If anybody can tell me why it's there and what it's used for, I would appreciate it.

Thanks,

Kurt

So ASP.NET was installed, what's the big deal?

Jeff

I found a router installed by daughter's boyfriend after they were told not to mess with my computer, because they managed to mess up my company provided router before. Then I happen to find ASP.NET - a user I've never seen before with password protection - at the same time. I wanted to be sure they hadn't done something stupid to my computer. I'm not so worried about it now, but still not happy they got sneaky with the router...

The user account was added whenever the .NET framework was installed. It's probably been there for quite a while.
