Im looking for valve guides, but the only ones I can find are sky high in price. Will 2J ones work for the 7M head? Im guessing no?

Anyone know where to get some good valve guides?

Interesting...yours are bad or worn out?
From what I gather, the 7M head rarely needs to have the guides changed.
I looked into it myself.

Have you had an honest machinist check them for their specs?
Or are you just contemplating a rebuild and wondering what they will go for?

Well, suppose that if a machinist were to mic' them up and find that they are well within their spec' limits...would you still want to change them?
The last head I had mic'ed, had guides that easily passed.
Another machinist even told me that it would be unlikely that we would have to change the guides.
He told me that when I asked for an estimate on rebuilding it.

I guess this could go for one of those debates where some may say "replace it," while others say, "inspect it first, then replace as necessary."

EDIT:
Anyhow, IIRC, the labor of changing guides is more costly than the actual guides.
That is something I would not have attemted on my own!
I guess I would have just asked my local machine shops.
