just curious if anyone on here is familiar with lipp boss turbos, or has one on there supra... i just ordered one and im looking forward to seeing how it performs. i got the stage 5 57 trim (525hp).. im going from a ct 60-1 so this should be a pretty big step up. also wondering what the internal waste gate is set at on these turbos if anyone knows. thanks

i have the boss 60-1 turbo, my wastegate was set at stock level, so not a huge power increase. the rest of my car is pretty much stock though. just waiting for my testpipe to arrive so i can put my 3 exhaust on.

well im planning on running 15-20psi tuned on my car. so should be a pretty good increase

I have that exact turbo ( stage 5 57 trim (525hp) ), and 20 psi is good for 400 horsepower (on my car -- just came back from the dyno).

I bought the very first commercially available BOSS 550, it's a stage V DBB 58 trim, it dynoed ~520 at the wheels (lots of other significant power mods).

I have one as well, you will like it, very reliable and good spool. Take the actuator rod and check for tension on the wastegate, I had to adjust mine about a full turn tighter to be correct.

You guys with the boss turbo, what is the bolt you're using for oil drain flange? I am missing my bolts. Normally on most turbo its m10x1.25. I thought they are using metric fasteners, but when I took the compressor housing off it's sae bolts ( 1/2 " bolts).

Are you using a Boss turbo? On the Ball Bearing turbo it is a larger bolt than on the thrust bearing turbo.
