Is Aaron Lewis still singing about how much pain he's in, and how much the world has forsaken him? If so, I'll stay tuned out. I bought two of their albums, enjoyed them a little, and then fell out of it.
It just seems like it's the same old repetitive thing we're hearing today.
In the 80's, men wanted to be more macho, but women wanted men to be more sensitive. In the 90's, men were more sensitive, to the point of some turning gay and girly, and now women want a sensitive yet still manly man. Here, past the year 2000, we have Aaron Lewis and a slew of other guys who sing about how hurt they are, but they scream AND sing about it, using a regular, nice singing voice, and then switching to a gutteral tone. I guess this is supposed to be sensitive and manly somehow.
-but if you enjoy the album, more power to you.
..so much for "the strong, silent type".
