OK, sourced an engine for my build:) Need Advice:1zhelp:

Facts
Gonna have Eagle Rods/Wiseco 9:1 pistons. .020" over.
Decided on SIP's Fearra valve package and a PnP for the head
7M Crank and Post 90 block
HKS Stopper HG
3.5" exhaust from BIC
ETS intercooler
Fidanza aluminum flywheel
Stock Intake for now
CT26-57 for now
RC 550's for now
Maft Pro Speed density for the meantime-Til I really wanna rev her:icon_evil

Future
When I do run out of fuel/turbo they will be upgraded as well as a LIPP FFIM from Supra Sport

Questions
Will the Brian Crower stage 3 cams be to much(poor drive abillity, no low end power) for my engine untill I upgrade? I know it'll be a bit of a rough idle but thats allright. I was going to stick with the stock cams in the meantime but talked myself out of it.
Cars gonna be a more or less a toy. Weekend driver if that and a 1/4 and road racing car.

Shooting for 400ish with that turbo and injectors(I know lots of that stuff is overkill) and then 5-6ish after.

Thanks all

The BC stage 3 will drive on the street just fine. They are not really that big of a cam. For an example, the larger cams in IJ's old 7m head was a street driver and as I recall, did it very well. That set up now lives in Ohio on a road car that also drives very well on the street with nearly the same power level you are looking for.

The cams do not have to have a rough idle.

You can also play with the power band by how you set the cams up.
(advance, retard, lobe split)
There is a sticky somewhere on how these effect engine performance.

My cam program predicted that more lobe split makes for a flatter HP curve.
And this was verified at the strip.
I originally set the cams up by info on an old Schnider cam card that said to use 106° lobe centers.
The engine felt real good around 7500, but was a real dog up till 6000.
Slowly worked out to 112° split, and about 4° retard.
Quarter times got better, so did the 330' times,
even though the kick in the but at 7k area didn't feel as good.

Since this is on a NA, I did not go any more on the cam split, since I can't turn up the boost to compensate for the drop off on peak HP that it causes.

But on my turbo build I will start off ar 112°, and work up from there to help build more low end.
Talking to people that have been building boosted engines fo many years, the general feedback is that 114°-116° lobe split will give the best results.

That doesn't sound too bad, I just hope it's got some low end balls, looking for a smooth powerband.

Are adjustable cam gears a necessity, will the stockers work in the meantime?

You can install the BC cams straight up with the stock cam gears, but they will not be timed to the events as BC wants them on the timing card. You need adjustable gears to degree the cams to the timing card specs. It will run with the stock gears, but you will not be happy with them.
