I originally bought my '88 Supra just to put the 7M into my 87 4runner, but I got the bug and picked up a 1J for the supra. Motor came in today, heres some pics. The motor came with an automatic tranny, I picked up a 1J R154 locally. I'll probably get started putting it in this weekend.

PIC 1: motor as it came in today
PIC 2: can anyone identify this ECU? soarer or supra? I'll try to get a better pic tomorrow
PIC 3: Does anyone know the story with this bearing thing on the clutch? Came like this with the tranny and I've never seen anything like it before. Is this supposed to be on the clutch?

So far I have:
3" DP
3" exhaust
intercooler and piping
BIC mounts
R154 drveshaft
electric fans and associated wiring and relays

anything else I need to get this thing up and running?

While I'm at it, I'll post some pics of the car. Nothing too special here, but it was only 400 bucks.

I don't know about you guys, but I think those wheels have to go, I picked up some NA MKIV wheels last week, just have to get tires for them.

Can you get a side profile picture of the motor? From the looks of it right now, it looks like it came out of a toyota chaser. Also take a picture of the ECU plugs with out the harness plugged in.

EDIT: oh and the throw out bearing on the clutch is just fine, its supposed to be like that. Thats the way the clutch for an R154 works.

Contact the seller ASAP to get a claim going.
Don't touch anything until UPS comes by to inspect.
You should also call UPS, with the tracking number.

And it will not happen overnight........

Filed a claim, we will see what happens. Can the lower oil pan be replaced while the motor is in the car?

It is fairly difficult to replace the lower pan while in the car, I would wait and and replace it while its on an engine stand. Also a new lower pan from toyota is like $92ish. I had to get one for my 1JZ. And that is a Soarer 1JZ. To make for the easiest swap into a supra you will need a Supra JZA70 ECU and Engine harness. There is however a write up on wiring the Soarer harness into a supra in the 1JZ section here.

Is your dealer price really $92? They want $144 for it here. Not the first time i've been quoted more than other people on the forums.

So does a bearing go inside of the flywheel as well?
