Recently, when I turn my ac on when I'm in neutral, my car is at fairly low rpms (~500rpm) and stutters slightly. My dad things it's my idle compensator. Today I just installed a new stereo with component speakers and a 300w amp. When I run my car, it constantly is experiencing the low ~500rpm speed even when it's not warmed up. My buddy told me today it sounds like a bad alternator. The car builds and holds a charge well so I'm thinking it's idle comp. What you guys think?

btw this is 1j.
