Alternator Differences between years?

I've searched and the only information I found is that the pulley for +89 is a different size compared to pre89....is that correct?

Are there any other differences between alternators?

I don't know about the year differences, but there is a big and a small alternator for these cars, big and small being actual size and also the big one has a higher amp output, sorry cant remember the values.

me too i got a pulley kit and the alternator dont fit and my buddy said that the 89+ have a different

Shafts should be the same size. Pulleys are different but the outputs should be the same.

Thats why the mr2(iirc) alternator is a upgrade cause it outputs like 120 amps.
