I know what you mean about signing a certain piece of paper, man. I think it was just last week that one of the guys in my workcenter got called in sometime mid-morning after he'd been at work until after 3 AM that morning (most likely at the end of a 12+ hour shift). The simple thing that that was for is because that guy signed an aircraft off as safe for flight at 11 (thinking PM) instead of 2300 (I never use military time no matter who I'm talking to, though I've never made the mistake that he did on an official document).

I've had experience with it myself, being on night crew and getting called right after day crew shows up, telling me that I had to get a bunch of stuff done that day, or in other words, my "night." I don't recall ever seeing anybody that worked days having to come in in the middle of the night.

I'm sure as hell glad to hear that you're feeling better, man. I know how stressful life in the military can be. Hell, when I was running our night crew this past spring, I'd dream about work almost every night and wake up thinking I had to take care of something repeatedly. On that note, it REALLY sucked being the only supervisor/inspector on that shift.

And oh hell yeah, is it ever apparent that your personal life isn't quite so important...
