so i was driving home from the park the other night and i notice my temperature gauge was a bit higher than normal...but still near the middle. couple minutes later i see it start climbing to about 75% of the Hot part so i freak out and immediately pull over and shut off the engine. i open my hood and theres a bunch of steam/smoke (not white smoke) just looks like steam kind of smoke coming from the exhaust manifold side. i take out my flashlight and i see some coolant had came out and was sitting on the floor..some on my rack and pinion...and also some fluid back near the EGR valve area...even some coolant sitting ont he valve covers
First thought was GOD DMANIT i guess i know how all those guys that got a head gasket feel. well i call aaron from driftmotion and he told me it shouldnt be a headgasket..he said 7M are notorious for having a certain hose near that EGR valve just blow and that if white smoke wasnt coming out my exhaust then its probably just a hose that came loose. after he told me this i was RELIEVED. just wanted to see what other people thought of this. and also when a car heats up that much to that point should i do an oil change? i read somewhere that overheating clumps the oil pan or something of the sort. Thanks
John
