all mk3 alternators the same?

I just bought a wes beech alternator bracket and it doesn't line up is it because it was made for a different alternator or just machined wrong? I have asked him too but im after a quick reply the people building my car have sent me away to go see if I can buy a new alternator that fits or im going to have to get another bracket made upwhich I dont want to do beacuse this cost me $240 nzd in the first place


for refernce mine is a 87 factory 7mgte auto rhd jdm supra

What size is the nut on the battery + post?

12mm it has a silver sticker with serial code 6g27 stamped on it too if that helps

Very odd, it "looks" like a GTE Alternator other than the distance across the mounts.

Sorry I don't have one here to measure up, I know the later Cruiser alts were bigger as I used one on my 7M.
(FJ80 from memory, you just swap the GTE pulley on and grab a patch lead from Ashdown or splice the cruiser plug onto your harness)

12mm was the one on the top I aussume that was the one you wanted all the rest are 8mm

my cars getting rewired atm for link ecu anyway I was just sent to get an alt that fits the bracket anyone will do aslong as it has the pug for him to wire it

the distance for mounting on the bracket is approx 160mm whaere tha alternator is 165mm these are both approx measures

side not did the mr2 alt fit also?

well I just got one off a caldina and that fits being mounted up now not by me though im going for lunch now

unsure of ampage ect thats a fun game for me to play later
