I found this today on www.slash.org , It seem the Air powered car is nearing completion. They expect to be producing approx. 3,000 cars a year.

These cars run off of compressed air, they cost ~$3.00 US to fill and can go roughly 186 miles on a standard tank. It also requires changing the vegetable oil every 30,000 miles. Also the compressed air is released at a cooler temperature than ambient to it can circulated in to the A/C system. A vary efficient car. Though its top speed is only 68MPH it would be ideal for use within cities where smog is most problematic. It's a pretty neat idea.

Function over form i guess. It's a really cool idea, and the vehicle as it is would probably work well over in Europe. But I'm not sure I would want to be driving next to a Hummer in a fiberglass car. But yes it is pretty ugly.

Yep - would work well in towns and cities in mainland europe. They have microcars over there. In the UK, they're too small apparrently.

But ANY car over here against a hummer would be like throwing a spitball at a block of steel...

I remember reading about this engine roughly 5 years ago. It uses a jointed conrod. When i last heard, they were only able to produce enough power to move a human on a gokart, i guess its gone along way since!
