Is this the only way to test it

What if I find a good one, I can use that to see if it is the meter or not.

Yes if you find a good air flow meter you can use that to see if yours is good or not. Is your engine light on or do you have any codes? maybe code 31.

The way to test it is, with the car running, unplug it and look for a change, it should be like night and day. But before you do that make sure you don't have any boost leaks.

Or he could put a DVOM on Hz scale...

In english plz? j/k

Well I think I do have a boost leak.

Heres the story, It was only getting to about 100 rpms' then it would bog down and start loping I took the plentium off and made sure all the surfaces were true and str8, I then went over all the "intake" items and tightened all the clamps and acc. It now will go upot 3,00 rpms, then do it...Im trying to get a good video of whats its doing...Anywho It pops down my the intercoolr pipeing(stock cooler, and pipeing). I think I have got all the vaccum line on correct according to the tsrm, but When it is running I hear a vacuum leak like under the throttle body area. I did put a bead of gasket sealent on the intake gaskets and etc. The plugs and wires are new, The throttle body was "recalibrated", I have fixed alot of engine bay wiring, cyclinder pressure is about 140-150 between all the cylinders. The turbo spins freely, and is lubed. Any suggestions?

In my experience, gasket sealent can make the bonding surface uneven, therefore causing leaks. And that vaccuum leak you hear could indeed be an intake leak. Check with some good 'ol WD-40

The airflow meter converts CFM to a hertz frequency, expressed on the dial of your DVOM as Hz.

DVOM=DMM

Digital volt and ohm meter, digital multi meter

I had checked with wd-40, and carb cleaner...no change, Ill try those tests out, also Im gonna clean up the gasket seleant on the intake items.

Just what ever you do DO NOT get any of that carb spray by the AFM sensor or else you will ruin you sensor. Is your engine light on or do you have any codes?

check the hose that comes off the turbo outlet for heat cracks. also check codes. A bad AFsensor will turn the engine light on.

To directly answer your question, no. And I do not recomend testing it that way. You aren't actually getting much information.

Thats how my Turbo Supra was before I replaced the afm sensor. I would barely drive it out of my driveway and I could not go more than 10-15mph before it died but then I replaced the afm and it ran good after that.
