im not sure if it works but was thinking of mounting the afm into a 4" cold air intake pipe to bolt up to a masterpower t-70.doin so was hopeing that it would sence extra air flow and extend lbs of boost before hitting fuel cut.if anyone has insight on this or has tried it please let me know.

There are so many things wrong with this idea I can't even start to count them.

Methods of dealing with fuel cut are well documented - not a surprise, considering that people have been hot rodding these cars for over 2 decades. Read up on them, and use one.

To add, you really need to learn how a Karmen Vortex AFM works and how the TCCS uses the input before "getting creative" ;)
Hint: a 4" intake pipe is not going to do squat to help delay fuel cut.

the foil tray on the front of the afm creates the vortex that the afm uses to measure the air with. There is more but a bit over my head and jdub and jetjock have explained it over the years if you dig around

Redacted per Title 18 USC Section 798
The Karman Pillar (the black piece that sticks down) is what actually produces the vortices but it requires laminar flow to accurately do so. Think of a rounded rock sitting partly submerged in a fast moving stream and what the water behind it is doing. That pattern of flow is called a Karman Street:

If the water upstream of the rock were flowing in a turbulent fashion street generation would be severely effected. The laminar flow screen in the AFM provides this "straightening" of the air before it impacts the pillar. For the screen to be effective there must exist upstream of it a minimum of one diameter in length. It's why running with a naked AFM often results in a funky idle. Having the screen exposed with the fan nearby doesn't help the situation any...
