yes it will eliminate the mas air .. It will also eliminate knock, o2, HAC IAT Stepper motor and many other doodads that clutter up a engine bay..

Not that it "will" eliminate it - I believe you can still use it if you want to. You can do just about anything with an AEM.

You can eliminate the knock sensors, but why? You can program the AEM to actually make them more responsive/useful. The AEM still needs an O2...narrow or wideband...either will work. You also need some method to fine tune idle...stepper ISCV or other type.

In a full blown race car. A race motor is typically built a allot looser than a standard motor. witch causes more noise.
What happens to Egt's at 35 lbs of boost when the timing get retarded due to noise? As for a narrow or wide band you don't have to have one to run. If you want it run in closed loop you do.

I guess it's a matter of perspective...wonder how many full blown race motors are on this forum

Maybe in some of the V8s and stuff the clearances are set bigger and the motor is built loose, but if you do it in this car you are asking for disaster.

There isnt any reason to make larger clearances -

nope

ask the high powered 2jz cars. Some run it. MOST do not. Off the top of my head, none of the Titan crew does, Larry from SP, Ryan Woon,. Ken Henderson I know does not. And those are the "all godly" 2jz.

The problem with knock. Great at shitty low levels. Raise the boost and it becomes worthless as now you are dealing with tons of motor noise and at 700+ rwhp, it won;t take much to knock the motor to death anyway.
